Messner Bergmuseum Corones
Het Messner Mountain Museum Corones is gewijd aan het traditionele alpinisme en maakt indruk met zijn ingenieuze architectuur en adembenemende bergpanorama's rond de Kronplatz.
Het MMM Corones op het hoogste plateau van de wandel- en skigeberg Kronplatz (2.275 m) werd ontworpen door Zaha Hadid. Het moderne gebouw past harmonieus in het berglandschap en biedt ook een uniek uitzicht - van de Dolomieten tot de Zillertaler Alpen. De naam van het museum verwijst naar de Ladinische naam van Kronplatz: Plan de Corones.
Tentoonstelling & uitzicht
In het Messner Mountain Museum Corones richt Reinhold Messner zich op het traditionele alpinisme en de geschiedenis van de Alpen. Kunstwerken, uitrusting en citaten vertellen over grote persoonlijkheden en de triomfen en tragedies op 's werelds beroemdste bergen.
Net onder het bergplateau bevindt zich een ander museum: het Lumen - Museum voor bergfotografie. Andere Zuid-Tiroler locaties van het Messner Mountain Museum project zijn kasteel Bruneck, kasteel Juval, kasteel Sigmundskron en in Solda.
Gondeltocht of wandeling
Er zijn verschillende kabelbaanverbindingen beschikbaar die je vanuit San Vigilio, Riscone of Olang rechtstreeks naar de top van de prachtige panoramische berg brengen. Je kunt de MMM Corones ook te voet bereiken. De wandeling vanaf San Vigilio, Riscone of Olang duurt ongeveer 4-5 uur.
