Traditioneel handwerk leeft voort in Zuid-Tirol. Vooral in dalen die vroeger moeilijk bereikbaar waren, werden de vaardigheden van generatie op generatie doorgegeven en zo bewaard. Handwerk hielp vaak niet alleen om de verveling op lange winteravonden te verdrijven, maar ook om te overleven.
In onze snel veranderende tijden groeit de waardering voor dingen die met liefde en geduld door vaardige handen zijn gemaakt. Gesneden of gedraaid van hout, vervilt of geweven van schapenwol, kantklossen van linnen garen of geborduurd met een ganzenveer: In heel Zuid-Tirol, van Tauferer Ahrntal tot Sarntal, van Val Gardena tot Passeier, worden unieke voorwerpen gemaakt volgens beproefde tradities en nieuwe ideeën.
Er worden bijvoorbeeld unieke handgemaakte producten gemaakt door boeren onder het overkoepelende merk Red Rooster . De Rode Haan maakt de landelijke manier van leven tastbaar op verschillende manieren en biedt zowel boerderijvakanties en boerderij-tot-tafel lekkernijen (boerderijtavernes en kwaliteitsproducten) als landelijke ambachten. De stukken die direct op de boerderij van natuurlijke materialen uit Zuid-Tirol zijn gemaakt, zullen je lang plezier geven.
