Milk festival

But milk is not always milk and only healthy cows can produce good milk. Of course, South Tyrolean cows make their milk in the same way as the cows elsewhere. The main difference is the keeping of the animals. The bigger part of the cattle still lives in farms and in summer the cows graze on nearly pristine mountain pastures.

During the South Tyrolean Milk festival in Sarntal you can learn more about life in the mountains and especially about the "white gold" produced in this region.

For example, farmers will show how to milk, how they make butter, cheese or cream. In addition, there is offered a various program with factual information, music, entertainment and – of course – many traditional delicacies made of milk and cheese.

Sarntal is located 16 km north of Bozen and can be easily reached by car or by bus.
