Eight Summit March

Je kunt de precieze data, tijden en programma's rechtstreeks bij de organisator opvragen.Originally, the idea for the Eight Summit March was given by the priest of Glurns. In fact, the mountain adventure begins at 3.30 am with a holy mass in the Frauenkirche. The march starts from Glurns Festival area between 4 - 6 am. Between 4 – 5.30 am, start packs with a map to be stamped at each summit will be handed out.
Via the meadows of Glurnser Alm, the hikers first reach Glurnser Köpfl (2,395 m), then Plaschweller (2,534 m) and Piz Chavalatsch (2,763 m). The next summits of the Eight Summit March are Piz Sielva (2,855 m), Piz Minschuns (2,935 m) and the highest peak: Furkelspitze (3,004 m). Afterwards, the tour continues to Großer Tartscher Kopf (2,952 m) and Korspitze (2,935 m). The finish is on Stilfserjoch pass, which is reached after 12 hours.
Checkpoints are:
- 10 am Piz Chavalatsch
- 1 pm Fallatschscharte
Helpers and mountain rescuers are positioned along the route. Every participant gets a small snack and some water at the Glurnser Alm. Water can be refilled again on the Chavalatsch and on the Fallatschscharte.
In total, the participants have to master a distance of 25 km and an altitude difference of 3,000 meters. In fact, the Eight Summit March from Glurns to Stilfserjoch is only reserved for trained hikers and mountaineers. All those, who come to the finish line will be awarded with unique mountain panoramas and with overwhelming happiness.
Participation is only possible from 16 years up! The tour takes place in all weathers.
